The sharp, stinging air bites at winter’s chill,
bringing the frozen cold to still all life.
Leafless trees rise from this new, fallen earth;
darkness that contrasts with this pure white snow.
A clear sky shines–a most brilliant hue,
sparking fractals upon the frozen water
and touching the whiteness with its soft glow.
Both beautiful and forever timeless.
It is the harsh beauty and the brightness
that draws me back here time and time again.
Beauty that shall be forever changing,
but is still in this one moment in time.
To see God’s wonder in this frozen life;
a sense of peace and beautiful joy.
